'JOAN HUGHES'
|
This superb cross between P allionii and
P x Linda Pope is not very generous with its propagating material so is
not often offered. Crinkly leaved congested rosettes of deep green and
on each short stem up to 20 open cup shaped flowers of lilac pink, deep
mauve and cream. Remove the flower stem as soon as the flowers fade, it
will kill itself with its efforts to produce seed which is useless
anyway. 3 in. |

LINDUM ‘MALCOLM’S MATE’
|
Margaret Earle’s Primula allionii ‘Malcolm’ is accepted as one
of the finest. The form and flowers on this hybrid are just the
same. Neat low cushion of small rosettes covered in spring with
white flowers with overlapping notched petals each suffused from
the edge with the most delicate lilac pink that spills half way
into the petal.

'WHARFEDALE SUPERB’
|
Another lovely Primula once again spoiled by micro-propagation.
Thanks to a customer we acquired the original form. It is
superb! Tight rosettes of olive green slightly crinkled edged
leaves that are finely dusted with golden farina, many pin eyed
short tubed almost stemless large flowers that are cream
centred. Each petal grades from white through pale lilac to
deep reddish purple at its wavy edge. |
