'ANNIELLE'

MK 8809/2

(curviflora x  tapetodes)

Possibly the best dionysia that I have put on the showbench, covering its tidy curviflora influenced cushion with a mass of creamy yellow  tapetodes like pin eyed flowers. It was awarded a P.C. in 1997.  2 in..

ARCHIBALDII

 x ARETIOIDES

'AISBETT'

Foliage is very close to D. archibaldii without the farina. It forms a close mounded cushion that produces flowers in abundance in early March and then continues sporadically right through the summer. Each long tubed pin eyed flower has a golden yellow centre that fades to delicate lilac at petal edges. Sweetly scented.

ARETIOIDES

'Phyllis Carter'

Bevere'    NEW

Ideal for the beginner. We list 3 well established forms that quickly make a  cushion of crinkly leaved rosettes covered  in spring with  hundreds of large scented yellow flowers. Each  has different flower shade and size, and flower at different times.

ARETIOIDES SLIZE 035

NEW

We already grow 4 other forms of ‘aretioides’, this new form is superior to all of them. Compact foliage is farina edged making it most attractive. The deep yellow substantial flowers are produced tight on the foliage. Choice

BERND WETZEL’ HJ94-01 (tapetodes x aretioides)

A Harry Jans hybrid that he named after a friend who was tragically killed in an accident. The influence of aretioides enlarges the whole plant but it is still close to tapetodes in form. Thrum eyed deep intense golden yellow flowers that completely cover the cushion. Very distinct.

'CHARLSON EMMA'

RBW 100-9              Caused much interest when shown by the raiser at last years Loughborough show. Short tubed, pale primrose/cream flower, covering the cushion, which is mid green and compact.

'CHARLSON PRIMROSE''

A recent ‘aretioides’ hybrid that has very heavy farina making the foliage seem grey, nice contrast with the large open faced butter yellow flowers.

'EMMELY'

MK 9402/1

(archibaldii hyb)

The most heavily farina covered foliage of all the dionysias that we grow, making the whole plant look dusty white. Flowers with us twice, in March and again in June. Soft butter yellow open faced pin eyed flowers with just a hint of pink at the edges. Not easy as a young plant. 4 in.

'ERIC WATSON'

 MK 9107/3

 (bryoides x

 tapetodes)

Similar to the better known 'Nan Watson' but not as vigorous. Described typically by Robert Rolfe as 'custard & prune' coloured in AGS Bull No 67 p. 391 where it is also illustrated. (Dec 99)

'EWESLEY IOTA'

NEW

EGW/MK 94/1 (F2 hyb. ex 'Nan Watson') Large custard yellow thrum eyed rounded flowers with deeply notched petals on a neat humped cushion. Each flower has an almost orange centre and throat.

6-00
f2 hybrid ENF-MK 01604

A very heavily farinose cushion gives the appearance of the whole plant being silver. A perfect foil for the relatively large butter yellow flowers produced close on the cushion.

5-00
f2 hybrid                             EGW 94-1 ex 'Monika'

A relatively easy to please hybrid that has a neat cushion of greyish green tight rosettes. Yellow flowers are freely produced tight on the cushion.

F2 hyb.                                       JM MK 01/529/3

This hybrid and the following one were the first plants that caught the eye on the dionysia benches at Gothenburg. Each being more farinose than any other form that we had seen. Tight cushions with yellow flowers similar to D. michauxii. This one was more compact but not as vigorous.
