CAMPANULA
BETULIFOLIA
|
AGM
The birch leaved campanula
regularly seen on the show bench with its deep green birch
shaped leaves contrasting so well with the large pendant white
bells opening from soft pink buds. We grow it on the rock garden
where it makes an eye catching feature tumbling over a rock. 2
in. x 12 in. spread . |

CAMPANULA
CARPATICA ‘JEWEL’
|
This
quickly makes a mat of pale green downy foliage and produces masses of
upright stems carrying large deep purple nodding bells on 4 in. stems.
Will soon spread to around 12 in. across.

CAMPANULA FRAGILIS 'CAVOLINII' |
A
superb pan plant cascading over the rim of the pot, its deep green
leaves almost disappearing under a constantly renewed display of large
tubby pale blue bells. Is now also doing well on a freely drained
trough. 2 in. |

CAMPANULA
GARGANICA 'DICKSONS GOLD' |
The well
known pale golden yellow foliaged plant that makes a superb contrast
with the powder blue flowers. 2 in. |

CAMPANULA
PSEUDORAINERI
|
A hybrid
between C. raineri and possibly C. carpatica. Whatever its provenance it
is an attractive plant for pan or rock garden. Grey/green mat of foliage
with wide pale blue bells on 2 inch stems. Needs regularly dividing to
maintain vigour. |

CAMPANULA
PULLA
|
Most
attractive and vigorous in a pan, we find it not as easy on the rock
garden. Slowly spreading to form a mat of mid green small shiny leaves,
masses of deepest purple nodding bells on slender 2-4 in stems over a
long period in late summer. |

CAMPANULA
PULLA ‘ALBA’ |
The not often seen white form of C.
pulla, which is a most attractive variant and looks very good planted to
intermingle with more usual purple form. |

CAMPANULA
TOMMASINIANA
|
AGM One of my
favourite campanulas for the scree bed or pan. Many 4 inch wiry stems
produce an abundance of small lavender blue pendant bells in July.
Trimmed back as these flowers fade a second flowering will occur in
September. |

CAMPANULA
'TYMONSII' |
A lovely
late flowering hybrid that produces masses of open, upturned bells of a
pinky sky blue on 3 inch semi prostrate stems after most other
campanulas have finished. The low mat of pale green small leaves gently
creeps but never becomes a nuisance. |
