We have
our good friend and galanthophile Ann Borrill to thank for the name of
this densely double snowdrop. Given to us by a work colleague over 20
years ago it is quite vigorous and had built up several large clumps
when Ann admired it, she took some home and for her own recognition
named it ‘Shaggy’. The logic behind the name is that its dense double
centre has protruding ‘teeth’ giving it the shaggy appearance.
